Marketing
Director Susan S. Blair
I am a
graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C., and live in Spartanburg.
I am mother to two amazing children, Shannon, 17, and John Thomas
(J.T.), 14. I became involved in healthcare in 1993 as an activities
director, and joined LaurelHurst/LaurelWoods in 2004 as Director of Marketing
and Public Relations. I have always been involved in some type of customer
service in various fields. My favorite part of my job is telling people
about our community and getting to know our residents. They truly teach
me something everyday, as they have seen and done so much in their
lives. I have the best job at LaurelHurst/LaurelWoods. |

Activities
Director for LaurelWoods Rita Henderson.
Wow, where to start? Im a native of South Carolina, born into the
home of a Baptist minister and his wife. While originally starting my
working career in nursing, I found a niche in fashion and developed cheap
joe jeans with three other partners. This turned into 17 stores
in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.. From there I found the
entertainment field and got into radio sales and management, including
a 25-year affiliation with WSPA in Spartanburg, S.C. While still working
in radio, I moved to Landrum, S.C., and opened a funky little boutique
called Wallflowers and Moonbeams. This brought me to the career I am most
proud of Activities Director for LaurelWoods. Nothing makes me
happier than helping my residents enjoy life and have fun; above all,
I help them laugh!

Maintenance/Housekeeping
Director Kenny Walker
I was born and raised in Polk County, very close to where LaurelHurst/LaurelWoods
is now. I came to this position shortly after the property opened, and
I help everyday with maintenance and housekeeping issues. I enjoy the
residents and the freedom we give them from everyday worries. I am married
to Loretta and have two sons, Brian, 13, and Dustin, 7. My passion when
I am not working or playing with my boys is hunting all over this area
and anywhere I can find a deer.
